We have developed a Shiggy Scale to help you be prepared to survive!

  • Level 1: In town trail – city streets, maybe some stairs and city squares.
  • Level 2: Urban, some off-road, possibly fences.
  • Level 3: Mostly trails, some trail blazing, maybe wet, tunnels are fair game.
  • Level 4: Challenging footing, walls, rock hopping, heights, spiky stuff, water crossings.
  • Level 5: Anything goes: Steep terrain, loose rocks, cholla cacti, barbed wire, swimming, bushwhacking.

 #1 Sedona Red Rocks

Trail Description: Get some mountain forest shiggy with spectacular views! Sedona is the home of the iconic Red Rock State Park and a bunch of new age hippies. Find true trail, beer, and maybe an energy vortex or two in this unique landscape.  The drive is two hours each way, and well worth it to get to an Arizona must-see landmark. Cooler temps prevail in the Sedona area, so this is a good choice for anyone trying to escape the heat. BVC, you may not want to come back.

**This trail has special rules: NO CHECKING off of hardscapes and existing pathways. Don’t Bust the Crust!**. This trail is best for those who can kick back and enjoy the views.

#2 Waterwheel

Trail Description: Don’t go chasing waterfalls, please stick to the hashmarks and the checks that you’re used to. You made it all the way to Phoenix, now let us take you a little further. The drive alone is worth doing this trail, so make sure you’re looking out the window while you’re singing hash songs! As you enter the Coconino Forest, just below the Mogollon Rim, there is a hidden gem called Water Wheel. You won’t wanna miss this! Through the pines, into the water, and over the rocks to Grandmother’s Beer Check you go! Our goal, as always, is to get you wet, really wet, so you might wanna bring a change of clothes and a towel. Expect cooler temps due to the elevation.

#3 Watson Lake

Trail Description: The picturesque Watson and Willow lakes lie within the Granite Dells formation in Prescott which consists of massive, rounded granite boulders that form rocky butt(resses). The trail will pass along shorelines, by an old flume, and may even pass by a waterfall. The views will leave you breathless, so don’t miss your chance to come get wet at not one, but two beautiful lakes. Bring dry clothes or a towel, and expect cooler weather than Phoenix.

#4 Ballbuster through Phoenix Preserve (Saturday Only!)

Trail Description: Greedy for miles and beer? Ready to challenge yourself with the most epic of trails? Well then the Ballbuster is for you! There will be peaks, valleys, beer, shiggy, blood on trail, beer, tears, and insufferable fun…with beer. Your haring team is stocked with ultra r*nners who will show you all that the Dreamy Draw area has to offer! The Ballbuster Trail will definitely push your limits with a half-marathon length trail through the Dreamy Draw area of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. You’ll love the view from the top of the mountain…and then the next one…and the next one. This is for r*nners only, and you need to carry water with you. There will be a few opportunities to ditch trail, but we can’t promise a ride back to the hotel.

#5 Lynx Lake

Trail Description: Are you ready to get wet? Looking to escape the heat? This trail will explore the Lynx Lake area in the Prescott National Forest. Experience YBFs among some of the most massive Ponderosa Pine trees in the country. Enjoy a boob check while balancing on the damn dam. Guzzle a beer while overlooking the lake or tucked away in a reservoir. Get as wet as you want on this trail. Come prepared with a change of clothes or maybe just shoes. BVC, the muggles like to bring their offspring here.

#6 Verde River & Winery (+$10)

Trail Description: *Hashers must bring $10 cash with you* By popular demand, we’re bringing you out to a trail featuring a winery in the Verde River Valley. Bush Rat and his pack will hare a fun and challenging trail with a little bit of everything – forest, water, shiggy, & desert vistas. We’ll have plenty of beer on trail, before stopping to enjoy Arizona wines in a unique setting. You will receive 5 tasting pours of your choice plus a souvenir vessel! Wine snobbery not required, this is a beautiful area for drinkers of all kinds – except the shitshows. If you think you might be a shitshow, please consider another trail. We need to respect our venue and their muggle guests.

#7 Out of West Texas Trail

Trail Description: All aboard the Uhauls!!! We’re traveling in Tex-Mex fashion. Join El Paso H3 and the Border Jumpers as you quickly choose your destiny. Soar with the eagles up to some amazing views of the valley! Or trot with the turkeys through hidden pathways and tunnels. Enjoy beers while braving some extreme urban shiggy, just watch out for homeless hashers. We’ll finish up with an epic “Out of West Texas” circle – done like only Texans can! Seriously though, there’s no bus for this.

If you aren’t comfortable riding in a Uhaul do not choose this trail.

#8 South Mountain (Sunday Only)

Trail Description: Calling all mountain goats! This trail is no joke. These miles will might be grueling but they offer some amazing desert and city views. Although you aren’t traveling far from the hotel, you will feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere while you’re boulder hopping alongside the lizards. “The turkey was like an eagle, the eagle like a double eagle,” according to Hashing Times. The technical challenges make for a really fun route, but this trail is not for the faint of heart, legs, or liver. If you’re looking for a challenging and fun desert trail, cum get your goat on!

#9 Oak Flats

Trail Description: The Oak Flats area is a little known playground for climbing, bouldering, ATVs, horseback riding, & hiking. On the ride out, you will get views of the Picketpost Mountain, the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Apache Leap and the mining town of Superior. Once at the Oak Flats Campground, trail will take you through high desert regions filled with manzanita, scrub oak & pine trees. Jagged canyons of volcanic tuff range from grey to red. Enjoy a beer among some Wile E. Coyote-esque rock formations where the largest Bouldering competition in the US was once held. Don’t forget your shiggy socks, you will need them!

#10 Black Canyon City

Trail Description: Not far north of Phoenix, the Black Canyon Trail is as a prehistoric Native American pathway, originally linking dispersed local settlements together for trade and travel. In the 1900s it became a major cattle-driving route.  More recently, the Black Canyon area has been used for hashing and occasionally, hiding bodies. This trail will bring you through various biomes of the Sonoran Desert, including saguaro forests and rugged canyons. This trail has great views and not so great shade, bring your sun protection!

#11 Needle Rock

Trail Description: A long, hard, erect form rises from the damp bush of the surrounding land. No, that’s not last night’s wet dream, that’s the trail! The Needle Rock trail will traverse rolling desert hills and lush riparian terrain. There will be cacti, there will be cliffs, there will be sandy washes, there will be beer, there will be astonishing views and most of all, there will be rocks that look like genitals. Watch out for the Catsclaw, Cholla, and the Sonoran Knife Tree on trail – they are all out for your blood! There will be water crossings, bring dry stuff if you want. Did we mention the cholla? There’s a lot of it. You can avoid it by simply paying attention, but you probably won’t.

Trail Description: A river made of salt? No. A trail made of shiggy and beer? Yes. Join us on the outskirts of town to do what we do best: hash, splash, and drink beer! Come play in the Salt River and the diverse and beautiful terrain around it. Most people in Phoenix like the Salt River because it’s a great place to sit in a tube and get wasted, but we already have that option for you at the hotel – so we’re taking you off the beaten path and up to some killer views. Keep an eye out for wild whoreses, and another eye out for wild muggles. Bring a change of clothes or a towel if you like.

#13 Bulldog Canyon

Trail Description: Join Rat Pack HHH to check out one of the best-kept secrets in the Phoenix area. With few developed trails, Bulldog Canyon is perfect for trailblazing hashers and rowdy circles. Virgin desert means you are likely to encounter wild horses, wiley coyotes, and their natural prey – roadrunners. Ascending EJ Peak, you can see Fountain Hills, Four Peaks, Red Mountain, Camelback and the Superstitions. Turkey and Eagle trails will be available with two beer checks to pull the pack together. This area is shared with whores-riders, reverse cowgirls, and off-road vehicles, so BVC!

#14 Sears Kay Ruins

Trail Description: Come check out prehistoric Hohokam ruins, sing your bawdiest ballads at an ancient waterfall, and take in the high desert at it’s finest with Las Vegas HHH (vlv!). We’ll be taking you into Arizona Mountain Lion cuntree (not to be confused with Cougar territory, that is in Old Town Scottsdale).  Mountain lions are known to inhabit the rimrock canyons and mountainous desert surrounding this trail. They prefer dense underbrush and rocky areas that facilitate an ambush method of stalking unsuspecting prey, often pouncing from above or behind. Don’t worry, as long as you make some noise and stick together, you’ll give sufficient warning to any lurking lions. What better reason to sing hashy songs with your friends?

Trail Description: Get a little tipsy in Tempe!  Tempe is a historic town that has grown up into one of Phoenix’s most popular suburbs. Home to Arizona State University, Tempe boasts a lively downtown area, a lakeside park, and neato neighborhoods. Your hares representing MINK (Missouri Iowa Nebraska & Kansas) are hellbent on showing you a good time by providing a boozy excursion through Tempe Town Lake, ‘A’ Mountain, and the Mill Avenue district.  Tempe is a bad place to play frogger, jaywalking laws are eagerly enforced.

Trail Description: Come play in one of Phoenix’s giant parks. Just 15 minutes from the hotel, you’ll barely have time to establish that “The other bus sucks!” before you’re following trail through desert shiggy, lush landscapes, and scenic overlooks. Enjoy rolling ups and down-downs surrounded by red rocks and panoramic views of downtown Tempe and Phoenix. Partake in a delicious beer while climbing from boulder to boulder. Papago Park is one of the most beautiful locations Phoenix has to offer and is appropriate for hashers of all ability levels. You will definitely see muggles on this trail, but also keep an eye out for coyotes and javelina!

You get the best of both worlds: go from urban streets and high-rises to lush desert shiggy. You will get to explore downtown Phoenix while avoiding constant pavement pounding. Check out the Rio Salado nature preserve/wetland habitat, where you will enjoy a Beer Near like none other with 100 other half-minds! Zippy Trail

On Saturday, hang out with Yeastee Boy from Colorado while he lays a F.U.C.K trail. What’s that, you may be asking. None other than a  Feet Up Colorado Kennel trail of course! Follow somewhere between 1 and 69 dollops of flour then put your feet up and enjoy a kick ass circle!

On Sunday, kick it with Gung Ho from Howling & Huachuca H3 and enjoy some Lazy River H3 action! Float down the moat, enjoy some beers, and sing lots of songs! You may snare the hare, but she don’t care!
